What is itel A50 price in Nigeria?
The itel A50 costs about ₦99,000 in Nigeria for the 2GB + 64GB version, while the 3GB + 64GB version currently sells for roughly ₦99,200 to ₦105,600. It is an entry-level Android smartphone developed and manufactured by itel Mobile.
itel introduced the A50 in 2024, giving it a 6.6-inch HD+ display, a 5,000mAh battery, an octa-core Unisoc T603 processor, an 8MP rear camera, and a 5MP selfie camera. It runs Android 14 Go Edition out of the box. The phone also supports dual SIM cards, USB Type-C charging, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and face unlock. One of its more useful features at this price point is memory expansion through itel’s Memory Fusion technology, although the extra RAM advertised through the feature comes from storage and is not the same as physical RAM.
Specifications
Battery
The itel A50 features a 5,000 mAh battery, which is one of the strongest parts of the phone’s hardware for its low price. Having a large battery is incredibly useful on a basic phone because the processor and screen do not pull as much power as higher-performance smartphones.
However, the real drawback is the slow charging speed. The phone supports only 10W wired charging, so filling up this large battery takes much longer than it would on newer phones that use 18W, 33W, 45W, or even faster charging systems. While having a modern USB Type-C port is convenient, the Type-C port by itself does not mean the phone will charge quickly. For the itel A50, the trade-off is simple because you get a large battery, but you will need plenty of patience when it is time to plug it in.
Display
The itel A50 uses a 6.6-inch HD+ display with a 720 × 1612 resolution. itel promoted this screen as an entertainment-focused display because of its high screen-to-body ratio. This large physical size makes the phone comfortable for watching YouTube videos, reading text messages, and browsing social media feeds. It also gives users plenty of space for typing compared to very small budget phones.
However, the screen resolution is firmly entry-level. At 6.6 inches, a 720p panel does not provide the crisp sharpness you find on Full HD+.
itel also includes a “Dynamic Bar” around the front-camera area for alerts such as charging status, calls, and unlocking notifications. It is a small software feature, not a reason to buy the phone on its own, but it gives the interface a more current look.
Camera
The itel A50 has an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The rear camera setup is accompanied by a small auxiliary lens and an LED flash.
What these cameras are not designed for is advanced night photography, high-quality zoom, or serious video creation. You do not get a telephoto or ultra-wide lens here, and the modest sensors mean your image quality will fall quickly when the lighting becomes difficult.
Storage
One of itel’s main selling points for the itel A50 is its Memory Fusion feature. The company advertises configurations like 2GB + 4GB or 3GB + 5GB, depending on the version you buy.
However, you should know that this additional memory is taken from your internal storage and used as virtual memory. This distinction is very important when comparing the itel A50 with phones that genuinely have 6GB or 8GB of physical RAM. A 2GB phone does not suddenly become a true 6GB RAM phone simply because its software allocates another 4GB from your storage space. While virtual RAM can help a bit with multitasking, it is much slower than actual physical RAM and cannot change the overall performance class of the Unisoc T603 processor.
How much salary do you need to afford itel A50?
Using ₦100,000 as our target price, the itel A50 is much easier to buy than phones in the ₦300,000 and above category. However, that does not mean everyone earning ₦100,000 can comfortably purchase it right away. Everyday costs like rent, food, transport, and bills still determine how much money you can actually save.
For a phone at this price bracket, a 25% savings target gives a more realistic picture than assuming everyone can easily set aside half of their monthly income.
| Monthly salary | 25% saved monthly | Time to ₦100,000 |
|---|---|---|
| ₦80,000 | ₦20,000 | 5 months |
| ₦100,000 | ₦25,000 | 4 months |
| ₦150,000 | ₦37,500 | 3 months |
| ₦200,000 | ₦50,000 | 2 months |
| ₦300,000 | ₦75,000 | 2 months |
| ₦500,000 | ₦125,000 | 1 month |
For example, someone earning ₦150,000 per month who can comfortably set aside 25% of their salary would save:
- Monthly Savings Target: ₦150,000 × 25% = ₦37,500 each month
- Time to Save: ₦100,000 ÷ ₦37,500 = 2.66 months
At this pace, it would take roughly 3 months of steady saving to reach the purchase price under this simple calculation.
How many working days of salary is itel A50?
For a ₦100,000 itel A50 and a 22-working-day month, the cost looks like this:
| Monthly salary | Approximate daily salary | Working days needed |
|---|---|---|
| ₦80,000 | ₦3,077 | 33 days |
| ₦100,000 | ₦3,846 | 26 days |
| ₦150,000 | ₦5,769 | 17 days |
| ₦200,000 | ₦7,692 | 13 days |
| ₦300,000 | ₦11,538 | 9 days |
| ₦500,000 | ₦19,231 | 5 days |
